This lense is a nice improvement over the original 18-55MM. You have about a 1 F-stop change in light transmission. The edges are much clearer. This is the best kit lense by far compared to any competitor.
A noticeable improvement over the first edition of this lens. Lightweight and small and the optics stand up to the much higher priced lenses. I recommend this lens to anyone interested in a great lightweight walk-around zoom.

The Canon EOS Rebel XSi Digital Camera incorporates improved autofocus sensor, enhanced 14-bit A/D conversion, an advanced Live View function, and the proprietary DIGIC III image processor which ensures that the fine details and natural colors of the images are optimally recorded, and also manages the camera’s efficient energy consumption and high-speed signal processing performance. Its newly designed 12.2 megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor employs large micro-lenses over each pixel to reduce noise and enhance sensitivity up to ISO 1600, while the 14-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversion process means the Rebel XSi camera records up to 16,384 colors per channel and allows the camera to produce images with finer and more accurate gradations of tones and colors. The camera also incorporates the Highlight Tone Priority and High-ISO Noise Reduction functions (previously found only on Canon’s Professional Digital SLRs) and the camera is equipped with Canon’s Auto Lighting Optimizer technology, which corrects image brightness and contrast automatically to prevent underexposure with backlit scenes. Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Lens: Canon’s latest optical Image Stabilizer (IS) technology provides up to 4-stop compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. Photographers normally shooting handheld at 1/250 sec can switch on IS to obtain a similarly steady and blur-free result with a shutter speed of just 1/15 second. The inclusion of automatic panning detection makes it easier for photographers to track wildlife and other moving subjects. Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens: An economical DC motor driven AF zoom, with the same optical system, construction, and exterior as its USM sister model. 8GB Deluxe Accessory Kit: Loaded with extremely useful accessories.
So far its been great. For my first DSLR camera, its awesome. a little tweaks here and there. I’m taking very good pictures and almost no post processing done. I’ve had a Powershot and after taking picture, I would edit them, then post the up in my Flickr (http://flickr.com/photos/skyp3r/) account. But now, I’m getting better quality pictures straight from the camera. I definitely recommend this cam to anyone as a starter in photography
I’m new to the SLR world and a VERY novice photographer. With this camera it doesn’t matter. I have taken great shots of my children play soccer and baseball using the sports setting and have gotten excellent action shots that I never dreamed I could get. The package with the zoom lens, tripod …. was the best value around. This is the best purchase I’ve made all year.

LG 50PK550 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV (Electronics) newly tagged "1080p"
Whether you have an eye for design, a love of sports or all that and then some, the PK550 is a plasma that will impress. With its TruSlim Frame, it has looks to turn heads and its 600Hz refresh rate makes it perfect for fast action. Wrap that up with a load of other features, like its outstanding contrast ratio, and you have a TV that anyone would want in their living room.
Well, I got my pk550 on tuesday. So far, i’m in love. Watching blu rays on my ps3 is a new experience. I want to go through all my movies and watch them again. The panel is just sexy. For my ps3 for blu rays, I use cinema mode (obviously recalibrated) and the picture is so smooth and crisp. My brother noticed right away how smooth and real the movement was. For my xbox 360, im using Game Mode (recalibrated as well). I’ve been playing mass effect 2 and it’s way more vibrant and rich. I have no issue with IR or burn in. As long as you set your tv to Orbiter and do a "color wash" every so often it cleans away any IR in a matter of seconds.
I was very nervous as this was my first plasma and i read about burn ins and IR. But after only 3 days and doing research I feel more confident in the tv and plasmas in general. I just do the "color wash" mode sometimes when im gone to break in it/speed the break in process up. If im playing a game that has a HUD on for a while, ill pause the game, and do a quick "color wash" for about 10 seconds and set it back to orbiter and keep playing. Now, this may sound annoying, but honestly, it’s not. You get used to it and get real quick at using the tv.
Also the pk550 has a load of calibration options. I love that. Anyway, it’s a great tv, def best bang for you buck for a 50" 1080p plasma. This is my first plasma and it’s an LG. I have much more faith in plasmas now. Especially lg. Pick this set up!!
